Rugby is our game !!!

Although Henry always pretends that she is not interested in sports, she is a vivid Springbok supporter and screams from the top of her lungs every time the Bokke break the line. Pity that most of them are so damn ugly..... and Monty is a bloody poof!

Rob, of course, shares Henry´s passion for the Bokke, but deep down inside he is as black as you can get. He is a faithful disciple of the one true religion - worshipping the mighty All Blacks.

For that matter we would like to draw your attention to a few books that are sticking out of the masses of Rugby books published.

Inky - From Twickenham to Homebush The Story of the All Blacks from RWC 1999 to RWC 2003. Very witty and quite funny.

(order at www.backend.co.nz/inky)

Francois Pienaar - Rainbow Warrior Autobiography of the RWC 1995 Springbok Captain

Jonah Lomu - My Autobiography

Corne Krige - The right Place at the wrong Time

Here is the goooood stuff. Click on the links Southern Hemisphere Rules !!!

I have been playing as a forward in the past twenty odd years. Having started as a second rower I have now switched to openside flanker. Someone must have thought I could do with a little bit of running at the tender age of forty-something.....

However, I still enjoy the crunch of a good game and the thirst that comes with it. I especially enjoy the mateship amongst the okes and the friendships sometimes resulting from that.

Having been a member of a number of clubs over the years, I would like to honour these clubs by linking to their respective homepages. Please pay them a visit and enjoy.

PAKURANGA UNITED RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB

The largest Club in New Zealand, fielding 9 Senior and more than 50 Junior and Touch teams. Several former All Blacks and Junior All Blacks wore the Green and Orange of Pakuranga. Visit their interesting Homepage (click on the logo) and stop by when in Auckland, New Zealand. If you want some more info on Pakuranga, or want a few travel hints and tips on NZ, please drop us a mail.

Or, even better, get directly in touch with their former President and honourary Life Member, Malcolm A. Sweetman. In case you are planning on getting married whilst visiting New Zealand, Malcolm can also be of assistance - he is a licensed Marriage Celebrant ! What a way to tie the knot!

Click here to sent Malcolm a mail (tell him Rob sent you!): the.team@xtra.co.nz

check out the “Ex-Players Gallery”!!!

Okay, my wife hates me for it, but at the tender age of 42 midlife-crisis struck and I became an openside Flanker for a second division team......here we go BSC

Apart from Pakuranga I would like to point out two other clubs / teams that mean a lot to me:

Palmyra Rugby Club in Perth, Western Australia, were I used to play for the “Young & Restless”

The world famous Frankfurter Bembelschwenker Golden Oldies Team.

Feel the Golden Oldies Power !

Rugby can be so much fun !

Or you may be following Aussie Rules Football. G´donya Mate! Way to go, Gazza. Here´s a link to the best team in the ARL, the mighty Westcoast Eagles!!!

Cricket is also one of the sports we follow. As a matter of fact, Henry and I fell in love with each other over a One Day International. Well, it wasn´t limited overs for us - we went all the way and got married...............

Here we support South Africa over Oz over NZ. But, who cares, as long as the chops are on the barbie, the beer is icy cold and a pom is out for a duck !
